i didn’t fall in love with you

it wasn’t a fall

it was more being pushed

pulled

sucked in

a tornado came from out of nowhere and grabbed me and launched me through the air

i didn’t fall

a portal opened beneath my feet when your words hit my brain

my heart leapt and gravity had some small part as my stomach dropped

there was no controlled descent

though it feels like flying

but i didn’t fall in love with you

i just did i was born to do

his tattered rags and torn and bloodied feet left a trail behind him, he was inexplicably drawn, through exhaustion and beyond the limits of endurance, one step at a time, a full sprint forward, disregarding common sense and logic, faster and faster he ran, he didn’t know where he went, just that he had to get there, pulled by some force beyond his understanding, a need that rose from inside and outside, a low and high pressure system of want and need, blindly flailing through a world he could never be a part of but desperately watched, on and on he moved, shedding bits of himself, a trail of past regret and future joy, eyes searching for that beacon sounding just over the next mountain top, the clarion bell sweetly ringing in his chest
